Work & Life
A multidisciplinary designer and digital art director with a deep appreciation for collaborative problem solving and intentionally defined, functional design.
I'm a firm believer in the creative problem solving process, care deeply about the work I do, and ultimately, your success.
My focus is you.
I love being outside on a bike, in/on a river, in a raft, on a trail, in a hammock, on my patio — you get the idea. I'm also into anything 80's, wine, the Boston Redsox, and useless/obscure trivia. I enjoy cold/cheap beer, good conversations, and fire pit sessions with friends, my wife and fur kids.
Things I believe in and respect:
The Golden Rule
Art Director | Ux/UI Designer
A majority of my time is dedicated to producing corporate style guides, atomic design libraries and UI/UX design models within a variety of industries — from municipalities to breweries and coffee roasters. I build web and app prototypes in InVision, wireframes in Sketch and production design comps in Sketch and Webflow.
Most of my work is related to digital design, user interview data collection, journey mapping, taxonomy and information architecture exploration, wireframing and final UI/UX design delivery. I also art direct branding (and rebranding) projects for new clients and start-ups within the industry.
Contract UX/UI & Visual Designer
As a design freelancer/contractor, I focus on identity system and branding, illustration, art direction, print and digital layout, web and app UX/UI design and 3D production.
I have collaborated with a variety of companies over the years and worked side-by-side with clients like Fosterweld, TitleOne, Barbarian Brewing, Sawtooth Lodge, Mid-Century Homes, Foerstel and Cradlepoint.
UI Designer | Art Director
At Brainstorm Creative, my primary responsibilities included identity system concepting and development, packaging, wireframing and web/app UI design. I was also responsible for building out micro-interaction animations for product demos, HTML5 banner ads to compliment a variety of marketing objectives and deploying social media and geofencing campaigns.
Stoltz provided great opportunities to flex design muscle and get into the nuts and bolts of a variety of creative disciplines — primarily print and digital layout, logo design, packaging, wireframing, responsive website design, storyboard creation and an introduction into motion design.
I also created presentation templates and contributed to a number of internal projects to improve agency processes and communication among the account and creative teams.
I joined the Wire Stone creative team as a design intern in the summer of 2014 and immersed myself in a variety of internal and external projects. These included RFPs, case studies, Power Point presentations, corporate briefs, personas and motion storyboards.
I also and assisted senior creatives in concepting, managing project timelines, and building and delivering assets based in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I worked closely with design teams, creative directors, copywriters, developers, project management teams and strategists to produce high-level deliverables and exceed client expectations.
